ROV Stereo Camera Fish Survey

Geo Oceans was engaged by a multi-national mining company to undertake a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) fish monitoring survey trial to compare against their existing diver-based method.

The survey reported that there was no statistical difference between the data acquired from the ROV survey transects compared to those from the diver survey transects and the method can obtain an estimate of the breeding population abundance that is comparable with much if not all of the historical abundance data.
