Cable Route Survey

Geo Oceans was commissioned to undertake a drop camera survey to capture high resolution, geo-referenced video and still images of the seabed within a proposed offshore telecommunications cable route in NW Australia.

The survey was undertaken at 49 pre-defined sampling locations along the proposed cable route within water depths ranging from approximately 6 m to 80. The live video feed and still imagery were assessed in real-time allowing for an immediate analysis of the benthic habitats. In addition, each transect was assessed for physical attributes, including substrate type and reef rugosity.
