ROV Mooring Inspections

Geo Oceans completed 22 annual mooring inspections in four days. It was the first time the Pilbara Port Authority had approved the use of ROVs for the in water inspections.

The inspections was completed in poor visibility and strong water currents. The ROV sonar was a critical component to the operation. The inspections included chain link and mooring component measurements, GPS positioning and cleaning of mooring components.

Stereo cameras were used to record accurate chain link measurements.
